This material gathers certain personal information about you, not only to meet legal requirements and for establishing and maintaining your account, but also for other miscellaneous purposes as set out below. Whilst you operate your account and otherwise contact AusTOTE, either electronically or by mail, certain additional information that you might or might not regard as personal will be gathered As AusTOTE respects your privacy it is considered essential that full disclosure be made about AusTOTE practices and policies in relation to the information gathered, and how your rights are best protected. Information, what & why? 1.  In the course of opening your account, general personal information will be collected:        Full name Date and place of birth Domicile and contact details including email address and telephone number Identification detail sufficient to satisfy the '100 points' score set by law Possibly credit card details This information is essential to the establishment, management and control of your account but, subject to your right of veto, will also be used by AusTOTE to inform you of new or updated services and products or to make commercial offers. The information will also be provided to satisfy any lawful requirement imposed upon AusTOTE to do so. 2.  In the course of betting generally AusTOTE will compile and retain all betting and account detail pertaining to your account, initially within an electronic database then finally by means of magnetic tape or disc. AusTOTE will use this information for internal accounting purposes, for gauging and analysing commercial performance and for satisfying an official request into the running of a race. Access to information The storage of all information is subject to strict security arrangements which limit general access to the information to AusTOTE management only. The signing of non-disclosure agreements is a condition of employment by AusTOTE. All information passed between your betting interface (betting module) and the AusTOTE server is encrypted to certified compliance levels. Access to personal information (excluding betting and account detail) may be made available to organisations that perform services for AusTOTE. Organisations other than AusTOTE will have no access to personal information for marketing purposes. The Norfolk Island Gaming Authority will have access to all AusTOTE information for its regulatory audit requirements. A recognised industry organisation conducting an official enquiry into the running of a race will be entitled to access your bet detail in relation to that race.   Your rights If you do not wish to be sent marketing information by AusTOTE you may contact AusTOTE at any time to stop such information being sent If you wish to access any personal information held by AusTOTE again you may contact AusTOTE and request that it be supplied. Any archived information that is unable to be supplied because the period of retention has expired will have been destroyed and will no longer be held by AusTOTE, any other organisation or any person.
